I’m Cody Hilliard, an Emmy-winning filmmaker driven to push the edges of storytelling. For over a decade, I’ve been crafting bold, immersive visuals that linger long after the credits roll. Whether directing, shooting, or shaping a narrative in the edit bay, I’m drawn to work that moves people—viscerally, emotionally, and authentically.

Funny thing is, filmmaking wasn’t the original plan. I started out fascinated by code, until a college mix-up landed me in a multimedia course. That “mistake” opened the door to design, photography, and eventually film. From the moment I picked up a camera, I knew I’d found my life’s purpose.

I’ve been chasing that spark ever since. From filming six-second clips on my mom’s flip phone to producing work that’s earned multiple Emmy nominations across the country, the journey has taken me through small towns and big cities, across states and oceans, all through the lens of story.

At the core of it all, I believe stories are how we make sense of being human. They connect us, challenge us, and remind us we’re not alone. If I can capture even a fragment of that truth—whether in a documentary, a narrative film, or a 30-second spot—then I’ve done my job.

When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll find me living life full throttle as a husband, soon-to-be dad, and devoted dog dad. The world’s a wild place. I just try to frame it beautifully.
